I've create this blog as a way of organising my thoughts and as a learning tool. For the last 12 months I have been working on my other blog www.econstudent.org. While the internet is filled with blogs about economics that are far better than mine. My blog is unique as it's written for students of economics. I don't claim be an expert, just a student who is endeavouring to share what he learns.
I have recently completed my Masters of Economic Studies and for the time being have decided that further studies in that area are off the table. Therefore my narrow focus of economics has expanded to include other aspects of my life. Including financial, spiritual, career and health. I am also studying a diploma of financial planning which I feel is within the spirit of this blog.
Like most people, I am still discovering what is my unique contribution to the world. Using the tool outlined in Stephen R Covey's the 8th Habit this is the combination of talents, passion, need and conscience. As you may have guessed I am passionate about economics and personal development. My talents include strong business development skills developed working in recruitment and sales, financial aptitude developed during my studies, marketing, information technology and problem solving. I previously worked in recruitment, employment services, accounting and the disability field.
In the Knowledge age I believe that great careers are those that develop solutions to great problems. Therefore my vocation goal which is a birds eye view of my career is the following.
Mission Statement:
"To live a life characterised by generosity, passion, and initiative. Sustainability in my relationships, finances and health. I will continue to be a lifetime learner and use my talent, passion and conscience to develop solutions addressing the needs of others."
